The Lumibär floor lamp, designed by Klein & Leidig for Elmar Flötotto in Germany during the 1980s, exemplifies the playful and iconic approach of postmodernist design of that era. Crafted from molded plastic in a vivid, saturated orange, the lamp depicts a stylized bear figure with geometric contours, minimal facial features, and boldly rounded proportions. Its matte, satin-finished surface softly reflects ambient light, while the semi-translucent plastic body evenly diffuses the internal glow. The details—such as the subtly protruding snout, oval mouth, recessed circular eyes, and integrated limbs—reinforce the cartoon-like character, a hallmark of postmodern visual language. The lamp is strictly monochromatic, with no decorative motifs, prioritizing form over embellishment. A black electrical cord with an inline switch extends from the rear.
