The Dome model floor lamp by Wortmann & Filz, produced in Germany during the 1980s, features a vertical, slender shaft in cool, chromed steel, from which four gracefully arched arms in highly polished gold emerge. At the end of each arm sits a spherical shade, evenly arranged, made of matte satin glass that diffuses light softly. The structural language is a fusion of regency revival flourishes and the geometric clarity of late mid-century and postmodern design, evident in the lamp’s symmetry, repetition of forms, and subtle decorative accenting at the arm junctions. A heavy, circular base guarantees solidity, and the exposed cable is finished with a dark foot switch for ease of use.
