This brutalist floor lamp by Temde, produced in Switzerland during the 1960s, features a solid vertical post crafted from honey-brown solid wood, accented by expressive, decorative grain. The matte finish highlights the wood’s natural texture, along with subtle signs of age that reinforce its authentic vintage character. The lamp rests on a thick, square wooden base, providing stability and a sense of permanence. Two spherical glass globes, each with a bubbled, artisanal surface, are mounted asymmetrically on polished chrome rings, their clear glass softly diffusing the light. Visible screws and metal fittings contribute to the lamp’s robust construction and underscore its honest, functional aesthetic. The cream-colored electric cord with a round foot switch is typical of the era. The lamp is in very good condition – the wood shows minor scratches and a gentle patina, the glass shades are undamaged, and the bulb sockets have been replaced with new ones.The silhouette of this piece echoes the architectural totems of mid-century modernism, blending brutalist rawness with Swiss precision
