ABOUT PRODUCTID 42591
This freestanding floor lamp, produced by Kamenický Šenov in Czechoslovakia during the 1960s, is a compelling example of Central European modernist design. The structure features two slender, gently arched metal rods in a cool, satin-silver finish, diverging from a solid ceramic base. Each rod is topped with a trumpet-shaped lampshade of white matte glass, finished with a warm, gold-toned metal collar. The ceramic base presents a deep reddish-brown speckled glaze, imparting a distinct, handcrafted character. Visible metal fixings and the straightforward connections emphasize the minimalist, functional approach of the era, while the overall form remains tall and slender, highlighting its verticality and lightness. The lamp operates with two bulbs and retains its original wiring with an EU plug. It is preserved in very good vintage condition, with only minor traces of use and some small patches of rust on the metal parts at the base. This lamp speaks with the voice of 1960s Central European modernism: the metal “stems” and glass “calyxes” evoke organic forms, as if the lamp had grown directly from its ceramic earth. The matte glass diffuses the light, creating a gentle, soft glow, while the golden accents subtly reflect surrounding colors. Each detail tells the story of an era inspired by nature and lightness, when objects were designed to be both functional and decorative. The lamp would suit a spacious living room or open hallway, where its vertical silhouette can accent
