This geometric ceiling or wall lamp from 1980s Germany is a clear example of late modernist and early postmodern design. The shade, crafted from ribbed, opalescent white glass with a matte finish, diffuses light evenly and softly. Surrounding the main body is a wide, highly polished brass ring, whose warm, golden sheen contrasts with the understated glass and captures light in striking reflections. The lamp is mounted on a solid steel base, which distances the fixture from the wall or ceiling and imparts a sense of visual lightness, while maintaining balanced proportions (42 × 42 × 14 cm).
