This vase from the 1970s, designed by Ludwik Fiedorowicz for the Staszic Glassworks (HSG Tarnowiec), exemplifies Polish art glass in the mid-century modern spirit. Hand-blown, the piece features a striking two-tone composition – a deep, emerald green body with a glossy, mirror-like surface merges with a wide, ruffled rim in dense, opaque milky white glass. The handle’s smoothly arching profile, accented with evenly spaced decorative spikes, and the solid, rounded base underscore the sculptural quality of the design. With no additional ornamentation, the shapes and surfaces allow light to play across the glass. The vase is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, and displays minimal age-appropriate wear; it has not undergone restoration.This vase tells the story of an era when Polish glassmakers embraced artistic freedom and bold experimentation with form and color.
