ABOUT PRODUCTID 490
The RM56 armchair was designed by Prof. Roman Modzelewski in the 1950s, originally as an experiment with form and material. The first prototype was made of plywood, and later the artist created a version from Vinidur (a type of PVC), which was then an absolute novelty in Poland. In 1957, the design won second prize at the National Exhibition of Interior Architecture in Warsaw. It is undoubtedly an icon of Polish modernist design. The contemporary version, produced by the VZÓR brand, has a seat at a height typical for chairs, but its form, comfort, and intended use classify it as an armchair. Characteristic features: organic seat shape, metal base with an abstract form, modernity ahead of its time. Seat: natural beech Frame: black steel Product made to order. Lead time: 4–6 weeks.
