This fruit basket, produced by the Fraget manufactory in Warsaw around 1850, is a testament to the artistry of mid-19th-century Polish silver-plated tableware and reflects the Rococo revival style. The body, made from copper plated with silver, features deep, vertical fluting that accentuates its mirrored, silvery sheen. The scalloped, undulating rim is embellished with intricate repoussé vegetal and floral motifs, echoed along the arched handle, which is further adorned with a central band of raised floral ornamentation. The basket stands on four ornate feet, each cast with detailed foliate designs, reinforcing its organic inspiration and highly stylized, asymmetrical form.
