This French garden lounger from the 1950s exemplifies mid-century modern craftsmanship. The structure is built from robust, rounded bamboo canes, complemented by a seat, backrest and footrest woven from slender rattan strips. The design is marked by flowing, organic lines and decorative circular motifs integrated into the armrests, with a warm honey-brown finish accentuating the natural grain and distinctive bamboo nodes. The backrest is adjustable, and there is an integrated, extendable footrest for comfortable reclining. The surface is smooth and polished, featuring visible natural variations and minor imperfections typical of hand-woven bamboo furniture. Its proportions are generous, with a high back and elongated seat for lounging. The chair is in very good vintage condition, showing only minimal signs of use such as gentle patina and minor scuffs, with no significant damage or repairs. All elements appear authentic and original.
