ABOUT PRODUCTID 37295
The 'Remer' wine goblet, produced around 1895 by the Bavarian Theresienthal glassworks or under the direction of Michael von Poschinger, exemplifies the hallmarks of Art Nouveau art glass. Mouth-blown from translucent glass in a warm olive-yellow hue, it features a spherical bowl adorned with a hand-engraved frieze of grapevine leaves and tendrils. The baluster stem consists of graduated rounded rings, culminating in a prominent nodus decorated with three applied glass 'raspberries'—a motif typical of the period and region. The overall harmony of proportions—large, rounded bowl, short decorative stem, and wide domed foot with a polished base—reflects the refined craftsmanship of late 19th- and early 20th-century Bavarian glassmaking. The goblet is preserved in very good condition, free from chips or damage, with only minimal signs of age-appropriate surface wear. This goblet embodies the spirit of the fin de siècle: the noble clarity of glass and the organic softness of form evoke an era when applied arts permeated daily life. Light lingers on the frosted frieze of leaves, while the stem’s pearlescent ‘raspberries’ recall the Art Nouveau vision of sensual, nature-inspired beauty. It is an object that could have graced the tables of Europe’s turn-of-the-century elite, celebrating not only the taste of wine but also the artistry of glassmaking. The goblet may be paired with other Secessionist glasses or stand alone as a collector’s accent on a console, dressing table, or in a glass-fronted cabinet. It will complement classic or eclectic interiors where historic glassware underscores a space’s individual character. For a refined effect, it can
