The Konkylie pendant lamp, designed by Louis Weisdorf for the Danish brand Lyfa in 1963, exemplifies the modernist approach to lighting typical of the 1960s. Its construction consists of twelve identical, curved aluminum panels arranged in a spiral, shell-inspired organic form. The exterior is finished in a warm, champagne gold hue with a satin sheen, while the interior surfaces feature copper and orange accents that become particularly vivid when illuminated. The design is completed with precise rivets and evenly spaced structural elements, accentuating the lamp’s geometric rhythm and three-dimensionality. The lamp is suspended from a new black textile cord. The condition is excellent for an original vintage piece — light scratches, patina, and minor dents are present, characteristic of authentic mid-century fixtures, and the lamp has been thoroughly cleaned.Konkylie captures the light and spirit of Danish 1960s modernism.
