ABOUT PRODUCTID 9282
This teak carving board with original ham knife, designed by Richard Nissen for Danish brand Bodum in the 1970s, exemplifies utilitarian Scandinavian modernism. The board is crafted from solid teak wood in a warm brown tone, featuring prominent natural grain and a matte, oiled finish that brings out its organic texture. Its elongated, rectangular shape is softened by slightly beveled edges and a subtle groove running along one side for juice collection. A central sliding insert of brushed stainless steel, with a regular pattern of round perforations, serves both functional and decorative purposes. The original ham knife, 45 cm in length, features a straight, satin-finished stainless steel blade, complemented by an ergonomically shaped teak handle secured with three rivets. The set is defined by minimalist, functional lines characteristic of the 1970s, highlighting attention to quality and detail. The condition is very good vintage – only minor, superficial signs of use typical for its age are visible, with no significant damage.
