This handmade Moroccan Berber rug, measuring 140x260 cm, fuses traditional craftsmanship with a distinctly modernist aesthetic. Crafted from thick, natural wool, it features a matte finish and a tactile surface defined by visible hand-knotted irregularities and hand-tied fringes. The rug’s base is a warm ivory, set off by bold geometric patterns in deep black, earthy terracotta, vivid green, mustard yellow, and brick red. Its asymmetrical composition and sharp, angular forms reference mid-century modern influences and abstract art. Each piece requires up to 10 days of artisan work in Ouadzem and can be customised in size and colour on request. The rug’s visual language balances the material heft of wool with a graphic lightness. The multicoloured composition evokes an artist’s gesture sketching lines across canvas, while hand-finished details underline authenticity and uniqueness.
