The Beni Ouraine rug, measuring 200 x 300 cm, is a contemporary example of Berber craftsmanship, hand-woven from pure wool. Its color palette features a rich burnt orange at the top, transitioning into deep ochre and vibrant mustard yellow in the lower half. Bold black and ivory stripes, spaced evenly, run vertically and horizontally along the right edge and part of the lower left corner, introducing a dynamic geometric interplay. The rug’s structure is dense and plush with a matte finish that highlights the natural texture of wool. Short, hand-knotted fringes finish the edges, while the tightly woven fibers emphasize the solidity of the construction. The design evokes mid-century geometric abstraction while referencing North African tradition.
