This handwoven rug, measuring approximately 250 × 150 cm, originates from the Moroccan region of Midelt, where Berber craftsmanship traditions intersect with mid-century modern and geometric art influences. The construction features thick, natural wool with cotton elements; the surface is matte, soft, and marked by palpable irregularities typical of hand weaving. The upper section is dominated by golden ochre yellow, interrupted by a bold red field and a cream ivory patch, while the lower part consists of rhythmic, abstract stripes in black, pink, orange, yellow, and cream. Simple fringes finish the shorter sides, and the dense weave underscores the rug's readiness for everyday use. The form of the rug recalls the artistic experimentation of the 1950s and 1960s, where abstraction and geometric reduction defined modernity.
