This handwoven Berber rug from Ouadzem, Morocco, is crafted entirely from natural wool with structural cotton threads. Measuring 150 × 250 cm, the surface features a dense, matte pile with a slightly shaggy texture characteristic of the region’s artisanal carpets. The base is a warm, muted pink, overlaid with irregular geometric shapes in green, sky blue, burnt orange, lavender, and a vertical rust-brown stripe. Each rug is finished with hand-knotted natural wool fringes, and the visible handwoven details emphasize both authenticity and robust construction. The interplay of colours and the spontaneous arrangement of geometric motifs evoke mid-century abstract and modernist influences. The rug communicates a sense of lightness and creativity, while the matte surface and plush pile add a tactile comfort.
