This handwoven wool rug, measuring 100 × 200 cm, is crafted in the Moroccan town of Ouadzem from thick, natural wool. The design fuses contemporary minimalism with Berber tradition: a warm, medium-saturated beige base is complemented by a wide horizontal band in clay brown. Three irregular black geometric shapes are placed asymmetrically within the central field. The rug's surface is matte, with a distinctly handwoven texture and short, slightly uneven fringes that highlight its artisanal quality. The material provides both softness and solidity, while the overall proportions remain balanced. The matte finish and tactile yarn emphasize authenticity and tranquility. Subtle irregularities in the weave and hand-knotted fringes underline the individuality of each piece. The rug’s character is restrained yet bold—geometric forms and an earthy palette evoke Maghreb landscapes, while the modern interpretation of Berber motifs creates the impression of a graphic composition on a large scale.
