This handmade wool rug, sized 200 × 300 cm, is woven in Morocco and rooted in Berber tradition. Its design features a geometric, abstract composition: the surface is covered with a saturated ochre-orange background, dominated by two irregular vertical stripes in deep, almost black aubergine. Short horizontal lines in creamy white appear along the edges and corners, adding rhythm and maintaining balance. The matte, subtly textured surface results from the tight hand-weaving of thick, natural wool, finished with simple, hand-knotted fringes in raw yarn. Proportions are harmonious—the central motifs assert themselves without overwhelming, while the dense and even weave ensures durability and solidity. This rug communicates calm and confidence of form. The warm ochre field recalls the clay architecture of southern Morocco, while the dark stripes—like traces drawn in desert sand—introduce graphic discipline.
