This handwoven rug from the Midelt region in the Atlas Mountains is crafted from pure wool and measures 140 × 260 cm. The construction features a matte, medium-saturated grassy green as a backdrop for two asymmetrically placed black geometric shapes: a square and a vertical rectangle. The thick, plush pile is unevenly textured, revealing the artisanal nature of each piece. Edges are finished with undyed wool fringes, and visible hand-tied knots emphasize durability and robust craftsmanship. Only natural wool is used, ensuring high pile density and resistance to daily use. The rug’s composition suggests a dialogue between Berber tradition and the abstract, mid-century modern aesthetic.
