This traditional Berber rug, measuring 140 × 260 cm, is handwoven from natural wool and rooted in the craft heritage of Midelt in the Atlas region. The matte, slightly plush surface accentuates its artisanal character, while the central motif is constructed from bold, geometric blocks. A warm ivory forms the background and border, complemented by a palette of deep teal, rust brown, ochre, stone gray, burgundy, and touches of cobalt blue. The composition is defined by clear vertical and horizontal divisions, with short fringes along the edges underscoring the traditional finish. The dense and soft surface provides both comfort and durability. The rug’s form communicates a balance between raw authenticity and modern abstraction. Geometric blocks create a measured rhythm, where color and proportion become a visual language grounded in Berber applied arts.
