This handwoven Beni Ourain rug from Morocco, measuring 150 x 250 cm, is crafted from thick, natural wool. The deep, matte black base is interrupted by two bold geometric accents in creamy off-white: a rectangle in the upper left corner and a vertical block on the right. The shorter sides are finished with rows of hand-knotted, light-colored fringes. The surface displays a subtly uneven, tactile texture with visible artisanal irregularities, highlighting the unique character of each piece. The construction is robust, and the proportions reflect a contemporary minimalist approach. The rug’s form is a dialogue between geometric restraint and Berber artisanal tradition. Its matte black ground sets a calm, architectural tone, while the asymmetrical white figures evoke the immediacy of a graphic sketch—spare yet striking.
