The Beni Ouarain rug, measuring 150 x 250 cm, is handwoven from natural wool and blends mid-century modern aesthetics with the heritage of traditional Berber craftsmanship. Its warm, creamy ivory surface provides a neutral base for bold geometric blocks in deep indigo, black, amber, and clay red. Sharp-edged, angular motifs and subtle marbled transitions introduce depth, while the thick, springy pile features a matte finish. The edges are defined by a simple braided border and short, hand-tied fringes in natural wool tones. Each piece is made in Morocco using age-old techniques, with slight pattern irregularities reflecting the authenticity of handcraft. The clear geometric rhythm and color contrasts create visual structure and order, softened by the tactile comfort of wool underfoot. The rug’s materiality and clarity of form evoke the landscapes of the Atlas Mountains: the horizon, sandy light, and stone shadows.
