This handwoven rug, measuring 150 × 250 cm, is crafted from pure wool in the Midelt region at the foot of Morocco’s Atlas Mountains. Its dense, hand-knotted fibers create a matte surface and a rich geometric composition. The central motif is an elongated diamond in ochre and amber, bordered by a band of pastel pink, while horizontal stripes in turquoise, pink, ochre, and ivory add a rhythmic balance. The lower section introduces a checkerboard pattern in turquoise and pink with short, natural cotton fringes. The thick, soft pile reflects the traditional Berber knotting technique, and the proportions and pattern rhythm highlight a contemporary character rooted in classic inspiration. The design and color palette evoke the raw beauty of the Atlas landscape and the enduring symbolism of Berber textiles.
