This handmade rug, sized 150 x 250 cm, is woven from natural wool on a cotton warp. The design draws on Berber tradition, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens – a warm ivory base is crossed by deep, irregular black lines and geometric shapes in shifting proportions. The strong contrast is softened by a wide border in clay pink at one end, adding a subtle accent and warmth to a palette that also features notes of stone grey, amber, and clay. The rug’s surface is plush and dense, with a slightly uneven texture characteristic of handwoven wool. Short, natural fringes along the edges emphasize the authenticity of the craft. The composition evokes the raw landscape of the Atlas Mountains – a balanced interplay of lines and color fields creates an impression of organic rhythm.
