The handwoven Boujaad rug, measuring 150 x 250 cm, originates from Ouadzem and is crafted from natural wool and cotton. Its dense, matte, and plush pile is complemented by robust artisanal finishing and hand-tied fringes. The composition is distinctly asymmetrical: muted blush pink transitions into cool slate blue, with a central, wavy red stripe bordered by subtle peach and blue-gray. Olive green and mustard yellow accents appear at the bottom edge, framed by a mustard border and completed with natural wool fringes. Black geometric and organic lines, as well as scattered diamond motifs, create a dynamic, abstract layout across the surface. The pronounced thickness and refined details underscore the rug’s durability and unique artistic character. The design evokes the impression of a painterly composition: contrasting color blocks and expressive, free-flowing geometry reference both contemporary art and traditional Berber motifs.
