This handwoven Azilal rug, sized 150 x 250 cm, is crafted in the Ouadzem region from natural, soft, and thick wool on a cotton warp. The composition features a predominantly ivory, matte base with a visibly plush and dense texture. A central vertical row of blue and green gradient diamonds is flanked by stylized branch and arrow motifs, while small turquoise, green, and blue squares with subtle hints of pink are scattered near the edges. One end is finished with hand-knotted fringes. The proportions are balanced and symmetrical, and the generous negative space highlights the geometric arrangement. The tactile softness of the wool and the rhythmic geometry introduce a sense of calm and precision to the interior. While rooted in Berber tradition, the pattern is rendered in a contemporary visual language—clear lines and a cool, fresh palette, recalling a trace left on desert sand. The simplified tribal motifs create a dialogue between heritage and modernity. The rug will work well in a spacious living room or bedroom, offering a bold yet tranquil foundation.
