This handwoven Berber rug, measuring 150 × 250 cm, was crafted in Ouadzem from thick natural wool on a cotton warp. Its distinctive design features large, irregular blocks of deep blue, turquoise, teal, mustard yellow, ochre, light blue, and muted beige, intersected by an organic central path in shades of yellow and beige. The plush, matte wool pile with a slightly shaggy texture highlights traditional weaving techniques, while short white cotton fringes add a subtle traditional accent. The balanced proportions and contemporary composition nod to mid-century modern abstraction within the authentic Berber craft tradition. The rug’s visual language suggests a composed strength rooted in craftsmanship—its surface feels soft, with colors arranged in a rhythmic play of light and shadow.
