The Berber Beni Ourain rug, sized 150 x 250 cm, is handwoven in Morocco from natural wool using traditional artisan techniques. Its main surface is covered with a warm medium pink shade featuring a slightly cool undertone, complemented by bold black-and-white stripes running vertically along the left edge and the bottom, as well as a smaller striped section in the upper right. The geometric, evenly spaced stripes create a dynamic graphic frame around the pink field, while a more saturated pink band at the bottom adds depth to the composition. The thick, matte pile has a soft, subtly textured finish, and the short white fringes along the edges highlight its authentic Berber craftsmanship. This is a contemporary interpretation of Berber motifs, blending tradition with mid-century modern aesthetics and a current visual language. The rug’s pattern creates a tension between the disciplined geometry of the stripes and the softness of the handwoven wool, evoking the sense of a functional artwork.
