This handmade Berber rug, crafted in Ouadzem, Morocco, is woven from thick, natural wool. The structure is robust, with a plush, matte surface that reflects the region’s artisanal heritage. Its design features large, irregular geometric shapes and vertical bands, referencing mid-20th-century abstraction while preserving traditional Berber weaving techniques. The dominant color is a deep, warm red, complemented by accents of cream, black, magenta, purple, and subtle tones of grey, amber, and ivory. Edges are slightly irregular, emphasizing the handcrafted process, and the bottom is finished with short, twisted wool fringes in a natural off-white. Each piece is entirely hand-knotted, highlighting its uniqueness and durability.
