This handwoven rug, sized 160 × 240 cm, originates from the Midelt region of Morocco and is crafted using traditional Berber techniques. Constructed from pure wool, it features a dense, plush pile with a matte finish and distinct tactile structure. The base is a warm ivory hue, set against bold geometric forms: a zigzag block of fuchsia at the top, deep black, brown, and beige bands, and vertical pink accents below. The edges are finished with hand-tied fringes in ivory with black details, highlighting the artisanal, subtly irregular character. The pattern fuses elements of contemporary abstraction with motifs drawn from Berber heritage. The rug’s form evokes the rhythms and shadows of the Atlas Mountains—geometric blocks and dynamic lines create a sense of movement, while gentle color transitions soften the composition’s rawness. The construction bears the imprint of handwork, bringing a balance between the calm of tradition and the boldness of modern design.
