This handcrafted Berber rug from the Oued Zam region (160 × 250 cm) combines contemporary minimalism with North African artisanal heritage. The base is made from dense, natural wool in a creamy ivory shade with a matte finish. The surface is interrupted by irregular horizontal stripes in terracotta, taupe, and deep black—each distributed asymmetrically. The hand-knotted weave features subtle variations and slight irregularities that reflect its authentic, handmade origin. Short fringes at the lower edge enhance the artisanal feel. The rug maintains a compact form, and its proportions suit both open-plan and more intimate interiors. The pattern and materials evoke desert landscapes—the light base recalls the softness of dawn, while earthy accents appear like traces left in the sand. The unforced asymmetry of the stripes creates a rhythm where tradition meets modernity. The wool’s plush texture adds tactile softness, and the variation in weave highlights the uniqueness of each piece. This rug works well against pale, raw floors—concrete, wood, or resin.
