This Berber rug, measuring 200 × 100 cm, is entirely handwoven in the Midelt region of Morocco. Crafted from thick, natural wool, it features a robust structure and distinctive geometric patterns. The creamy ivory background forms a neutral base for saturated accents: deep cobalt blue, mustard yellow, burnt orange, and black. The surface is built from alternating color blocks, horizontal and vertical stripes, and a prominent black diamond. Short, hand-knotted fringes in shades of ivory and yellow finish the edges. The pile is soft, matte, and slightly textured, with natural variations in fiber height and irregularities characteristic of handweaving. Artisanal details such as pattern asymmetry and varied weave density emphasize the unique character of each piece. The rug’s visual language merges modernist simplicity with a sense of tradition. Geometric rhythms and freeform lines evoke abstract compositions, while subtly referencing Berber heritage.
