This handwoven rug, measuring approximately 200 × 300 cm, is crafted in Morocco’s Midelt region—an area renowned for Berber weaving traditions. The dense, matte wool pile is set on a strong cotton warp. A creamy background anchors an abstract arrangement of irregular, organic shapes in terracotta, olive green, muted blue, and soft pastel pink, placed asymmetrically. The surface is plush and thick for a comfortable feel, while hand-knotted wool fringes underscore the artisanal origin. Each rug is completed over about 15 days of skilled weaving, using time-honored techniques passed down through generations. The rug’s form and palette evoke Moroccan landscapes—color fields recall traces of ancient ornament and contemporary abstraction alike.
