This Moroccan Berber rug, measuring approximately 200 × 300 cm, is handwoven from natural wool, likely with a cotton warp. The design features broad bands of colour: deep blue, creamy white, vibrant green and bold magenta, complemented by yellow and pink accents along the hand-tied fringes. The upper section presents a geometric motif combining cream and blue on a green background, while the lower part transitions into a textured magenta and purple field. The surface is matte, distinctly thick and soft, with subtle irregularities in the pile. Uneven fringes at one end highlight the artisanal, handmade character. The rug’s form references mid-century abstract art, blending traditional Berber weaving techniques with a modern, graphic sensibility. Colour blocks interact like elements of a contemporary painting, and the irregular texture evokes the imprint of the maker’s hand. Its bold palette injects energy, yet remains rooted in natural, warm tones, conveying both authenticity and an artistic sense of freedom.
