This large handmade Moroccan Berber rug, measuring 200 × 300 cm, is a contemporary example of artisanal Moroccan craftsmanship, where traditional techniques blend with an eclectic, modern design language. The multicolour palette features mustard yellow, olive green, black, cream, burnt orange, purple, with accents of magenta and turquoise. The geometric, abstract composition—rectangular blocks, diagonal lines, and a prominent black-and-cream checkerboard pattern on one side—contrasts with the lower section’s stylised motifs and angular forms. The rug is finished with a thin purple edge and hand-knotted cream fringes on the shorter sides. The densely woven wool surface offers an even, slightly coarse texture, emphasised by a matte finish. The rug’s design echoes abstract painting and mid-century textile traditions, blending the energy of colour with a rhythmic geometry.
