Handwoven in Morocco’s Midelt region, this 230x160 cm rug is crafted from natural wool, resulting in a dense, tactile structure with a characteristic matte, plush surface. The design consists of abstract color blocks: cool blue dominates the center and lower section, warm sand beige appears along the left, a vivid orange-red band crowns the top, while deep green and cobalt accents mark the right. Short white fringes finish the edges. The composition reflects a contemporary, modernist sensibility, with asymmetrical, organic shapes and evident handwoven technique in each line. The rug’s visual rhythm evokes a modern interpretation of desert landscapes—color and pattern echo the interplay of light on earthen architecture and the memory of journeys across the Atlas.
