This handwoven Moroccan rug, measuring approximately 250 × 150 cm, is crafted using traditional techniques from the Midelt region. The pile is made of thick, natural wool, while the warp and weft are cotton, resulting in a dense and robust structure. The geometric pattern features large, symmetrical diamonds in contrasting shades of creamy white, black, and mustard yellow. The composition is rhythmic and precise, with a matte surface and a visibly plush, slightly coarse texture. The rug is finished with hand-knotted fringes of undyed wool; each piece is produced over about 15 days by skilled local artisans. The visual language of the rug references the Berber symbolic code, where diamonds signify protection and prosperity. The interplay of creamy white, black, and yellow creates a tension between calm and energy, as if the rug were a dialogue between tradition and modernity. Its texture and colors evoke the ruggedness of the mountains and the warmth of southern sunlight, while the repetition of the pattern recalls the rhythm of daily life in a Moroccan village.
