This handwoven rug, measuring approximately 250 x 150 cm, originates from the Midelt region of Morocco, renowned for its long-standing Berber weaving heritage. Crafted from natural, soft wool with possible cotton in the fringes, the construction features a warm, creamy off-white background as a canvas for bold, geometric accents: rectangles and stripes in shades of green, cobalt, blue, olive, orange, and navy. The rug is finished with hand-tied fringes in multicolored threads. The composition is asymmetrical, with clear lines and color blocks, while the slightly irregular weave highlights the artisanal, handcrafted character and authenticity. The rug’s form tells a story about the encounter of tradition and modernity.
