This handwoven Moroccan Berber rug (approx. 250 x 150 cm) is crafted from thick, natural wool using traditional techniques passed down through generations in the Atlas region. The composition is defined by bold geometric contrast: an elongated central hexagon in vivid magenta, bordered by successive bands of black, mustard yellow, and cobalt blue. The matte mint green background is punctuated by horizontal stripes in olive green, powder pink, beige, and cobalt blue along the side edges. Twisted fringes made from raw, undyed wool finish the ends. The shaggy texture ensures softness underfoot, while the overall aesthetic blends mid-century modern influences with touches of boho. The rug’s form balances the impulse of color with the discipline of line. The central geometric motif recalls modernist inspirations, while the free arrangement of colors and irregular side bands evoke the spontaneity of Berber craftsmanship.
