This handwoven rug, measuring 250 × 150 cm, is crafted from natural wool in the Midelt region of Morocco. Its structure is composed of asymmetrical color fields: the upper section features muted pinks and violets with subtle tonal shifts, followed by earthy brown bands, while the lower part is defined by bold blocks of black, burnt orange, cream, and deep red. Each color segment is distinctly separated, and the surface is characterized by a matte, tactile texture with a slightly irregular weave. Simple, twisted wool fringes along the short edge underline the artisan origins of this piece. The rug conveys a dialogue between tradition and modernity. Its geometric composition recalls twentieth-century abstraction and the spirit of mid-century modern, while the tactile quality and materials remain rooted in the Berber heritage of the Atlas Mountains. Every weave records the slow rhythm of handcraft—an impression of a living landscape, where the interplay of colors and textures tells the story of Morocco, blending deep tradition with contemporary expression.
