This Moroccan rug, measuring 250 × 150 cm, is handwoven from natural wool on a cotton warp in the artisan workshops of Midelt. The surface is structured in horizontal bands of deep purple, burnt orange, dark green, mustard yellow, and olive green, each separated by thin blue lines. Large diamond-shaped motifs in saturated orange, yellow, blue, red, cream, black, and green provide a dynamic visual accent. The pile is thick and plush, with a distinctly handwoven, slightly uneven texture; the edges are finished with simple fringes. The construction is dense and robust, and the matte wool finish highlights the rug’s authentic and durable character. The bold geometry and vivid color palette create a visual rhythm inspired by mid-20th-century Berber and Moroccan tribal traditions. The interplay of hues and motifs suggests a mosaic in motion—capturing the energy of craftsmanship and the story of its origin. The tactile, soft surface and pronounced weave add a sensuous layer to the interior—here, color and form take center stage, inviting a closer look at every woven detail.
