This handwoven Berber rug from Morocco, measuring approximately 250 × 200 cm, is crafted from thick, natural wool on a cotton warp. The color layout is based on bold, geometric blocks: on the left, grassy green and magenta form intersecting triangles, while the right side features an off-white field with an irregular black accent along the edge. Clearly defined edges, a matte surface, and natural wool fringes emphasize its artisanal character. The weave is robust and subtly irregular, a result of the manual weaving process. The rug’s form references mid-century modern geometry and twentieth-century abstraction, while maintaining Berber design heritage. The color composition and texture evoke the Moroccan landscape: green recalls the valleys of the Atlas, magenta refers to the vivid hues of local flora, and off-white with black conjures the interplay of light and shadow in Midelt’s architecture.
