This handwoven wool rug, measuring 300 × 200 cm, is crafted in the Midelt region at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, following traditional Berber techniques. The structure features thick, soft pile in natural wool on a cotton warp. The composition consists of a matte terracotta field, a bold black and ivory border, and geometric blocks in lavender and pale pink near one edge. The lower edge is punctuated by a densely speckled black and ivory pattern, while a short, uneven natural wool fringe emphasizes the artisanal quality. The rug’s texture is substantial, with a slightly irregular surface and visible hand-knotting. Carefully finished edges reinforce the piece and protect against deformation. The form evokes an abstract composition—geometric divisions and contrasting bands reminiscent of stone arrangements in Moroccan landscapes. The palette, ranging from warm terracotta to muted greys with hints of lavender and pink, balances rawness with softness.
