This highboard from the late 1950s, attributed to Oswald Vermaercke and crafted in Belgium, exemplifies mid-century modern design with distinct Scandinavian influences. The elongated form (220 × 142 × 35 cm) is constructed from teak in a warm, medium brown with subtle reddish undertones, finished in a semi-matte sheen. The pronounced wood grain is visually striking and creates an organic texture throughout. The structure is divided into three main zones: an open shelving unit with two adjustable shelves on the left, a single sliding door in the center, and a double-door cabinet on the right. The understated, integrated wooden handles reinforce the minimalist aesthetics of the era.
