The teak highboard, model 13, was designed by Gunni Omann for the Danish manufacturer Omann Jun in the 1960s. Its form, defined by balanced proportions and subtly rounded edges, is emblematic of Scandinavian mid-century modernism. Constructed from solid teak in a medium, warm brown with a slight reddish undertone, the wood grain is visible throughout and enhanced by a satin to semi-gloss finish that lends refinement and depth. The cabinet stands on four slender, tapered legs that visually lighten the composition. The front is composed of four sliding doors with integrated, sculpted wooden handles and two wide drawers at the base with recessed pulls. Behind one set of doors, six smaller drawers offer space for organizing smaller items. The craftsmanship speaks in the seamless alignment of doors and drawers and the smooth, flawless surfaces.
