This crystal hip flask with a silver mount is an example of late 19th-century German craftsmanship, reflecting the decorative richness of the classical era. The body is made from clear, hand-cut crystal glass, adorned with a dense, geometric 'Viennese cut'—a pattern of intersecting diamonds and lines that creates a highly polished, faceted surface. The light reflects off the crystal with an icy brilliance, accentuating its sculptural form. The lower part features a removable cup made of matte-finished 800-grade silver, subtly patinated, while the neck and hinged cap are also silver, finished to a mirror polish. The inside of the cap is gilded. Authentic German hallmarks used after 1884 are present, underscoring the provenance. The flask’s proportions are harmonious, with a rounded rectangular silhouette and gently curved shoulders, measuring 17 cm in height, 8.6 cm in length, and 4.4 cm in width.
