ABOUT PRODUCTID 1725
This hunting motif cigar guillotine originates from 1950s Western Europe. The handle is crafted from a genuine African warthog tusk, retaining its original texture, subtle surface cracks, patina, and a palette of warm ivory with brown and yellowish marbling. The metal fittings and cutting mechanism are made of brass and steel, silver-plated, with visible rivets and a matte to satin finish. The spring-loaded mechanism ensures smooth movement, while the composition merges the organic form of the tusk with the utilitarian simplicity of the metal parts. The guillotine stands out for its eclectic style, blending naturalistic inspiration with functional character, and is preserved in very good condition – showing only minor signs of age and use, with no serious damage. There is a tangible tension here between the primal strength of the natural tusk and the precise craftsmanship of the metalwork. The organic curve of the handle flows into the cool, geometric lines of the mechanism, as if two worlds – hunting tradition and industrial design – converge. The tusk’s surface evokes memories of past journeys and rituals, while the restrained simplicity of the metal highlights its timeless function. This object carries a story within its materials, subtly alluding to ritual and collectibility. The guillotine could be displayed in a study or living room, placed on a solid wood console or among a curated collection of cigar accessories. It may be paired with an exotic wood cigar box, a leather case, or a small metal tray to emphasize its collectible nature. Surrounded by dark, matte surfaces and subdued lighting, it will subtly draw attention to the unique texture and coloration of the tusk. The piece can also be combined with safari-inspired details or classic hunting elements to create a personal and balanced spatial arrangement.
