This ikebana bowl from Chodzież, produced in the 1960s by the Chodzież Porcelain Factory, represents the aesthetics of Polish mid-century tableware design. Its construction features a low, wide form with a gently sloping profile and a centrally elevated, perforated section. The interior is finished in a deep, glossy black, contrasting with the smooth, matte off-white exterior. A distinctive hand-applied black linear pattern animates the off-white band on the rim, introducing movement and a touch of artisanal character. The bowl is made of porcelain stoneware, balancing a lustrous interior glaze with a subdued exterior surface. The base bears the factory mark and “MADE IN POLAND” signature, confirming its provenance.
