This Imari plate from Japan, dating to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, exemplifies the region’s traditional ceramic artistry. Crafted from faience and hand-painted, it features a scalloped rim and a richly varied decorative scheme. The dominant hue is a warm, iron-red, complemented by deep cobalt, black, green, and gold highlights. At the center, a symmetrical, stylized floral motif in black with gold outlines is set against a white field.
