This Imari plate, crafted in Japan at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, exemplifies the refined artistry of faience with a glazed surface and a gently scalloped rim. Measuring approximately 22 cm in diameter and 4 cm in height, its harmonious proportions are complemented by a vivid palette: warm iron-reds, deep cobalt blue, green touches, and subtle gold highlights. The hand-painted decoration features alternating panels of stylized flowers and foliage, with a central medallion rendered in blue underglaze. Visible brushstrokes and slight irregularities reveal the artisan's hand, characteristic of period Japanese ceramics. The plate remains in very good condition for its age, displaying only minor scratches and gentle wear to the gilding, with no major chips or cracks.
